Lionel®: A Collectors Guide and History CD-ROM (Modern Era)
Product Description
MODERN Features: The Modern Era CD-ROM disk is structured around the
most current and comprehensive data compiled for all Lionel cataloged items
available during the Modern era (1970 to 1997) and combines a variety of
multimedia elements to create a fully rounded experience of each Lionel
item. Contents and features include:
- Textual descriptions of each catalog item along with the contents of
all sets and listings of any variations of an item to aid the collector
in pinpointing the exact variation and its approximate market value.
- Current pricing & rarity estimates for every Lionel Modern item
to assist in evaluating purchases & appraising collections.
- Color images for most Lionel Modern items, over 2500 photos including
sets and accessories.
- Over one half hour of video, including clips of major Modern cars and
accessory items in full operation, many with sound effects produced by
the item. The disc features music "Last Train Home" by Pat Metheny.
- Historic background on the Lionel company and the evolution of Lionel
toy trains - including the contents of Lionel: A Collectors Guide &
History - 1970 to 1980 (Volume IV) by McComas & Tuohy and an update
on recent history covering 1980 to the present.
- Extensive background information about each type of car and other Modern
Lionel items ranging from Dash 9 Diesels to EL-C Rectifiers, Budd cars
to Commuter cars, steamers to powered units, operating accessories to building
kits, the entire range of boxcars and specialty freight cars, passenger
cars & sets, reissued Lionel Classics to Standard O, Large Scale to
Semi-Scale, as well as cataloged and uncataloged train sets. Also includes
pricing and rarity for catalogs and other paper items from the Modern era.
